For me this tv show is one of the best tv shows released in year 1984. It is a pleasure for me to watch such a good tv show. I know it's know from being a mainstream popular tv show, but honestly it's a really entertaining tv show. You just have to watch Hill Street Blues - Season 5. Great actors and great story. However, I think that well-chosen actors and an interesting script are not pushed to the background by music, because a good tv show consists of many elements.
